In the middle of the 18 th century, an importan Genoese oil merchant, Tomasso Micon, promoted the construction of the Hacienda de la Pura Concepción, today known as the Hacienda Micones, on a olive grove in southern Spain, an imposing neoclassical building conceived as an unitary project that responds to a studied architectural planning that was a model for other later Haciendas in the region.
The farm was probably built on a previous, older building since the area is a place
of fertile lands and abundant water, as witnessed by the multitude of archaeological
 remains found around the farm.
Once a thriving olive estate, the building continues to maintain its agricultural and lodging  use, being meticulously preserved by the current owner family, whose members are farmers, contempory art collector and artists in equal measure.
In addition, an impressive garden has been created around it .
